The weirdo behind the words

I painted my first theater set when I was five years old. My dad was in a community theater musical and had enlisted the family to help with the set. I remember curiously peeking through one of the doorways of the set and discovering the ugly, unfinished, chaotic world of the backstage. It was magic.

Ever since, I've done almost every theater job - from actor to crew to props to fly system operator to director to my favorite role of all: stage manager.

But theater was always just my hobby. Writing was my first love. It was inevitable that eventually the two would merge. My decades of experience in both the literary and theatrical worlds mean I know what I'm doing when it comes to engaging yet practical stage storytelling.
I write plays that will make people happy. Not just the audiences, but the cast and the crew as well. There can never be too much laughter in the world. I hope you will join me in creating some.

How can I license one of your plays?Reach out to comedystageplays[at]gmail[dot]com. Include information about your theater (theater name, location, type (professional, community, school, etc)), number of performances, and the prospective dates. We'll be in touch!
-
Why do your plays have so many characters?More characters means more actors, which translates into a bigger audience (every actor brings at least a few friends, family members, or coworkers to a show). More characters also means more chaos on stage, which is always fun and adds to the hilarity!
-
How do you feel about gender-swapping characters?Of course I'm attached to the characters how I originally imagined them, but being a theater person, I understand that you can't always find enough good actors in the same gender makeup as a script. So I'm cool with it.

When is your next script coming out?I promise as you read these words, I am writing the next play or thinking about the next play or worrying about the next play or am asleep. So, the odds are pretty good it'll be soon. Keep checking the Script page to see what's coming soon and when new scripts become available! Or you can sign up for our newsletter and be the first to know when new scripts are coming!
